I need to remove acetaldehyde from a CO2 stream coming out from a fermentor for the production of ethanol. I have a wet scrubber with water at 50F. Acetaldehyde is at concentrations around 50 ppm.
Anybody has information about the use of sodium bisulfite to increase the removal efficiency? Without the addition of the chemical, removal efficiency will be around 15% due to the low solubility, but I know that sodium bisulfite allows to increase the efficiency significantly.
Thanks
