Relief Valves

Does anyone in the aerospace industry know of a standard/minimum margin between the minimum relief setting of a valve and the operating value?

That is we don't want the valve to potentially crack/relief during operation.

Generally you should allow at least a 10% margin above the working pressure.

This allows for the hysteresis in the spring that retains the seat of the relief valve closed.

You may find that some valves can work on a tighter tolerance but in my experience 10% is a good reliable starting point.
