Hi,

I have a workstation with a borrowed NX license. There is a function which is not working and because of this I would like to reinstall NX.
How to backup the borrowed license? What is the best way to do this without loosing the license?

Before you start tampering with that license... Borrowed licenses can be a bit tricky. - I would not do this without first returning that license, re-install, then borrow again.
What is it that doesn't work ?
Are you sure you did borrow the license for that option ?

Regards,
Tomas

I checked the licenses and are all same on all workstations! On 1 computer the weight function is working and on the rest its not. Thats why i would like to backup the license / reinstall NX / import back the license and check if its fixed.

What is the logfile telling you? Any errors when trying to use the weight function?

Sorry, I'm new in Siemens NX. Where is the log file located? The error message is that the license is not okey, but I know for sure that the licenses are all same on all pcs.

1) Why do you run borrowed licenses ? ( " the licenses and are all same on all workstations! " )
A borrowed license is intended to be used when, for example, you leave the office and have no network connection to your license server, or similar situations.
If you have network connection to the license server , you do not need the borrow option.

2) the logfile can be found : Pre -NX9 under Help - Log file, NX9 and later : File - Help - log file
Immediately after you have tried this function that doesn't work, open the log file, the last lines in the log file will give information on what's wrong.- If its a "crash" or a license issue.
It is fully possible that this computer doesn't have the needed license borrowed.

3) can you tell more on exactly what button you try that doesn't work ?

Regards,
Tomas
