Hi Everyone
This question is purely for my own curiosity as I have never come across this before (I should also say that I am a junior engineer). I have a set of drawings from 1942 (I'm doing some renovations on a building). On the drawings most of the reinforcing steel is stated as 2-5/8" diam. STR. H.B.E. or 2-5/8" diam. BENT H.O.E. (these are for example purposes). I am wondering if anyone out there knows what the HBE and HOE stand for.

Thanks!

Hooked both ends sometimes stipulated H2H or HH, and hooked one end...
