Rehabilitation assessment of a Building designed using ASCE7

Hello All,
Is this required to evaluate an existing structure by ASCE-41 even if it was designed using ASCE-7? What about checking it under ASCE-7 again? Is there any possibility of that building to theoretically fail (some of its members) though it is ok under ASCE-7 ??
