Experts ,

This is regarding query for the stamping requirements of the equipment and piping related to the Reformer package. Components designed as per ASME SEC I ( Waster Heat Boiler coil , steam superheat coil & Steam Drum ) , ASME SEC VIII ( Waste Heat Boiler ) , ASME B31.1 ( Process piping , steam , water piping and cross overs ). Client requirement is all ASME Designed equipment shall be provided with ASME stamps .

Apart from this reformer tubes and process coils designed as per API 530 / ISO 13704. Remaining convection coils , transfer line / collector there is no clear specification .

My question
1. Does piping (ASME 31.1)required stamping.
2. As checked at site WHB Sec VIII , Steam superheat coil Sec I, steam drum Sec I contains stamp . Remaining waste heat boiler coil and convection coil there is no any stamp .
3. Is there any stamping requirement for convection coil and transfer line.

Kindly share valuable inputs .

Thanks and Regards
Abraham ap

1. No
2. What’s your question actually? Couldn’t really derive that. Sec VIII-1 may require a stamp, depending on jurisdiction.
3. What’s the design code for those lines?

Side note: B31.1 is not for process piping. B31.3 can be used as well for steam, water piping and perhaps also ‘cross overs’, but I’m not really sure what that is.
