Reference for Basic and fundamental of Valve design (Gate)

Hello,

I need a reference that shows the basic and fundamentals of stem and gate calculations.

For example for butterfly I can see the equations in file below, but how these equations have been derived and developed?

My focus is on GATE valves.
Thanks.
