A downtown developer is wanting to install (7) residential apartments and (2) businesses in a recently renovated building downtown. The main waterline is across the 25'-wide street but there are (2) 1" PE service taps in front of the building.
My question: Are the (2) 1" lines sufficient enough to handle the (9) total customers or am I looking at opening up the street in order to install a new 2" line? Could the (7) apartments be served off of (1) tap the the (2) businesses off the other? The static pressure in the area is just above 70 psi. The main waterline across the street is 12" in diameter.
