We are trying to develop a new test method that requires fluid recirculation. The problem I am having is fitting a single pump that will evenly deliver varying viscosities (100-3000 cps). The thicker the fluid the harder it is to control the volume. The goal is to meter 10 GPH despite liquid viscosity, without any pulsation (nice continues stream).

Would a positive displacement pump provide too much of a "pulse"?? In my experience, these seem to be the best type for various viscosities, especially for constant and reliable flow at the higher end.

Have a word with Slack and Parr in the U.K.

I have used their hydraulic flow dividers on hydraulic systems and got very good accuracy.

Their flow dividers are derived from pumps that pump very very high viscosity liquid plastic.

The pumps are used to pump the plastic through very small nozzles to make stockings and tights.

The accuracy of the pumps is incredibly high and they are very durable.

They are very much worth talking to...ask for Tim Barrington.
