hi everyones
i am new to all this and i need your help.

I am making a AA battery charger and I was stuck on the battery charging algorithms of Li-Ion and the rechargeable alkaline batteries

I found the charging algorithm for the Li-ion as follows:

1) pre-charge if Vbat < 2.5 v at C/10
2) fast charge if 2.5 v < Vbat < 4.1 v at 1C
3) constant voltage charge at 4.2 V
4) and finally termination when charge drops below C/10

but however I cant not find anywhere the charging algorithm for the rechargeable Alkalines.

could any one please help me with this? thank you very much

I don't think this is, or at least it isn't a homework problem. It looks like he has found and is trying to describe a charging algorithm for Lithium batteries. I think the C is the reference to the 1-hour capacity, so for example if the voltage is less than 2.5V then 'pre charge' it at a controlled current equal to 1/10 of 1-hour discharge rating.

I think what he is asking for is an algorithm to recharge the alkaline batteries, which I must admit I haven't seen.

What doesn't make sense is the idea of it being a AA charger, when AA batteries are 1.5V, unless it assumes that they will be connected in series.
