How does the NEC apply to a standard 120v receptacle in a metal singlegang jbox mounted to the backplane inside of a metal control panel enclosure mounted to a large (1/2"thick x 8"sq metal tube structure) fixture? There is 120vac coming in to run the panel and controlled equipment, and the receptacle would branch directly off the incoming wires. A dedicated 10A fuse is in line with the hot wire. From the incoming supply wires, it will be about a foot of 12AWG wires into the jbox.

I have a panel shop build my panels and I always have a DIN rail mounted 120Vac 'duplex' outlet and have for some years.

The panel shop builds to NEC standards.
