Rebar bending radii

Referring to a thread wherein a question was asked about minimum rebar bend radii, an answer was give that referred to Table 7.2 of ACI 318. This table gives minimum bend inside diameters, not radii, as a function of bar diameter. All of the bar bending provisions of ACI 318 Section 7.2 are stated in terms of inside bend diameter. If the questioner followed the starred answer given his bends ended up unnecessarily loose. See thread167-143536.

 
Note that the last post in that thread mentions the ASTM test bend diameters WHICH SHOULD NEVER BE USED FOR DESIGN OR CONSTRUCTION - they are ONLY for use in determining a bar's compliance with a ductility requirement.

As always, don't use numerical answers found on an internet forum without looking at the current edition of the cited source document.
