Rear Suspsension

Hello All,

Any info on the use of a longitudinal watt's linkage w/ a panhard rod? I found a 80s vehicle using this type of a rear suspsnion on a FWD alfasud.alfisti.net/asch.html
Any new ones?

I don't know of any modern cars using this idea. In some respects it is quite an elegant solution, since it gives good kinematic control of the axle, while at the same time it does not encroach on the floor as much as a traditional four bar link.

On the other hand it is not very good for crash.

Many modern cars of the same size as an Alfasud use twist beams, they are simpler and seem to work well enough.
