I couldn't find anything related to this issue, it is usually either you can run Realview or you can't.

I have a strange issue with Realview Graphics available in some files and not in others. Obviously my graphics card is capable of RG or it wouldn't be available at all.

Particulars:
SWX2010, SP2.1, XP 64-bit, Dell Precision M6400, Quadro FX 2700M.

At first I thought it was the new computer (the replacement Dell sent, not my spec), and thought the video card did not support RG. But then I noticed RG was available in some files. I do not have an exhaustive list of files, but in part, drawing, and small assembly files RG is available; not working in an assembly of only 14 parts, even after resolving all and saving.

I looked and could not find anything related to large assemblies and RG. Does anyone have an idea of what may be going on?

Thanks,

I have not confirmed it, but I have seen some of these problems with video cards that end with "M". Some laptops don't do well with some graphics.
I have asked my VAR to look into it, no feedback.

Chris,

The M suffix is an indication of Mobile or laptop version of the VC.

I did not have this problem with the original laptop, Dell Precision M6300 with Quadro FX 3600M. But I was running SWX2009 on it so I don't know if what I am seeing is due to the VC or SWX2010 (probably an obscure setting that is right in front of my face).

Updraft,
I know it's means mobile. Some of these cards I have had issues with, depending on the make. Some don't have driver updates.
Don't know the answer for the fix.

Are you in an Assembly when you see this happen? If so, look at turning off "Large Assembly mode" under Tools. Also try resolving the assembly to see if that makes a difference.

Trying to track when its off and on is the first step to figuring out what is going on. I suspect a setting that is causing this.

Scott,

I had resolved all components and that did not do anything. Neither was there a change when turning off Large Assembly Mode. . . until I got out of SWX and restarted it. I think it is somehow related to LAM, but have not been able to see anything in the options or help file to indicate this.

I wish it weren't so, but at least in this case I cannot have LAM and Realview Graphics at the same time.

Thanks, Scott. Another star for you.
