Read/Write command to IDEC MicroSmart PLC

Hi,

I am trying to communicate with an IDEC MicroSmart PLC.
The manual says i need to convert the values into Hexadecimal i converted my values as follows
"05h 30h 30h 30h 52h 44h 30h 30h 31h 30h 30h 32h 32h 30h 0Dh"

The PLC does not respond to this command, does any body know
the reason. I use a VB program to communicate with this PLC.

Any help, suggestion or links would be helpfull.
