We have problems with optical pyrometer lens fouling.

The boiler is wet bottom boiler.During the operation of the boiler slag deposits accumulate.

Are there any experiencies how to this problem is solved?

Thank you!

You could cover the lens with Saran wrap and change when fouled.

The usual method is to use a constant flow of clean purge gas through the tube that is the optical path to the pyrometer.

in an operating boiler or combustion furnace is more than a simple purge the optical path

a number of suppliers have good designs that to start with

Thank you all for answers.

I did not explain thoroughly the problem.Pyrometer is optical.

During the operation of the boiler optical path of pyrometer is blocked with slag that is being created on walls of the boiler. Temperature of combustion in melting chamnber is cca. 1.500 deg.C.

Purging air cools the slag on walls of the boiler. Hardened slag blocks the optical path of pyrometer.

Are there any proposals top solve the problem? Experiencies?

Persej,

those are normal problems, not easy to solve but par for the measurement

there are a number of pressing issues more critical than keeping the sight path clear, how are you dealing with them
