Hi,

Can i check if anybody can help me with my Abaqus simulation. I am trying to find the radial strength of my stent. from the first step of crimping, then expansion, then recoil and lastly recrimping to find the radial strength. However, all displacements applied on the stents are direct without any crimper or balloon. Is this still feasible?

I have done it this way to simplify the process but however the radial displacement curve seems weird. Can anyone advice?

That is a very common scenario in stent simulations; one just uses a rigid cylinder or two to apply BCs. I can't say much about why your results seem weird but I would simplify the problem down to bare bones and see if the results make sense.

Can you attach a picture showing your model with boundary condition and load symbols ? Maybe something is wrong with the way this model is supported.

Do you use cylindrical coordinate system ?
