Hello,

I have a mechanism where two racks with different pitches(say pitch=1 unit and another 2units)placed side by side and one after another.

I have another piece on the top of this part with two gears of pitch 1 and 2 attached together. Now what I want to do is to attach a motor to the gear and have it move along the rack in a manner where gear 1 moves along rack 1 at pitch=1 and at the end of rack 1, gear1 will be detached from rack 1 and gear 2 will be attached to gear 2 and move according to pitch=2.

In other words, how do I limitthethe rack/pinion to work onlywithin aspecified range?
