We have upgraded to V15 however the QuickPick selection tool is un-usable. It is incredibly slow. Tried adjusting the setting but it is virtually impossible to select a part. Is it possible to revert to V14 or is there a fix for it.

You would have to uninstall v15 and install v14. You will NOT be able to open any files that you saved in v15, though.

There are a few things to check.

First, graphics card. What do you have? Are the driver current.
Second is DirectX. SE uses OpenGL for rendering the graphics area, the other stuff runs Windows-like commands (I don't know exactly how it works) that use DirectX. I think QuickPick is one of those DirectX displays, just like tooltips, icons, etc. You should at least have DirectX 9. You can tell by going to Start --> Run and typing in "dxdiag." The DirectX version will be towards the bottom of the general tab.

Do you have SE View Options set to Graphics Card or Backing Store. Run on Graphics Card mode if you video card can support it.

Anything else running in the background on your computer that may affect graphics performance: SETI, animated GIFS, transition effects, etc.?

Give us some more information on what you're running and we can try to troubleshoot this problem.

Are you using XP and did you move the manifest files to make your tooltips work properly ?

If that's the case, just install the update 1 for V15. It contains a fix for quickpick.

hi, we have exactly the same problem on all of our CAD stations.

Some details:
Solid Edge V15 SP10
P4 3.2Ghz
1,5 GB Ram
Matrox Parhelia 128MB graphical card (with the latest driver and bios installed)
Windows 2000 and Windows XP (with all servicepacks and updates installed)

The funny thing is that when i replace the videocard for an Asus 9280S everything works fine.
But with the Parhelia this quickpick menu just won't work as it should.

I already asked Matrox about this, but they have no solution and they can't simulate our problem.

Right now all these expensive parhelias are waiting in their box but it would be nice if we could usa these $300 cards ;-)

Anyone know the solution?
