If I want to figure speed, and know the drive- output RPM, and the wheel diameter how do I find mph speed?

I tried this (RPM*tire dia. /336)= mph

example- 85*6"/336 = 1.51 mph... (?)

it seems to work from what I can calculate, but is there a better way- or whats a way to double check?

Hi binfordw

Multiply your tyre radius in inches by the angular velocity
of tyre ie:-

tyre rad*rpm*2*3.142= tyre velocity in inches/minute

multiply this answer by 9.47*10^-4 to get mph.
