Hello friends,
Likewise I am having problems calculating an Net Pay/Sw/Porosity/Drainage Area/Recovery Factors for a fractured oil shale in the Second White Specks formation. What is the most appropriate way to estimate volumetrics on a shale gas/oil zone?
Some troubling issues I was having is how much is the true porosity and how much is effective? Deep resistivity is fairly low on the logs. Yet this well's initial production is 100 barrels/day. The true porosity from neutron/density is somewhere around 20%. I'm assuming a quarter mile drainage area. The logs are reading high gamma ray (spectral gamma ray shows high amounts of uranium). Resistivity micro-imaging tools have been ran as well.
Also, what wireline tools work best in identifying shale fractures in your opinion?
Thank-you for the post Tamu.
