I want to convert a 8 ton steam fire tube - oil fired boiler to a coal fired boiler, by constructing a furnace externally.

For the above I need information reagrding Pulverized Coal Feeding System in to furnace. Also help me with information regarding furnace design for coal firing.

Suggest that you read Chapter 27 of "Modern Marine Engineers Manual", Vol II, 3rd Edition published by Cornell Maritime Press, Centreville, Maryland, USA.

Hi Sachi,
its not as easy as you might think. If you consider a seperate furnace for the combustion of PC (pulverised coal )you can only use the flue gas enthalpy because you miss the radiation of the flame. That means your efficiency will decrease drastically. On the other hand, even if you can find a burner manufacturer supplying such a small PC burner you can not fit it directly to your boiler because you have no de-ashing possibility.
It might be worth evaluating a small coal gasifier and use a standard gas burner directly for the boiler.
Good luck
