Hi
I have a number of product scales that I need to take the flow rate from. I am using an s7-400 plc, there are several different types of scale a number of them can easily be connected to profibus, but other older versions only have a 240v pulse output each time they tip which at the moment sets a count on a counter in a control room, others have a serial connection that could be picked up within the control room, my question is all of the information i need can be gathered within the control room via the 240v pulses and the serial connections, so does anyone have any idea what I would need to fit in the control room to gather this info??
There are five scales with pulses and five with serial connection.

thanks in advance for any responses

I suggest build some microcontroller based interface.
Is you need more help, I need to have the specs and data
sheets of the different devices and their number.
