Hello I was wondering if someone could help me please.

I am looking for the standard (preferably BSi) that relates to a particular type of PTO shaft.

I have a 1 3/4" 6 Spline shaft and can't seem to find the standard for the tooth pattern anywhere.

I have dug up ISO 500-3 but that doesn't cover it. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

It would be worthwhile to check out Machinery's Handbook.

It is better to have enough ideas for some of them to be wrong, than to be always right by having no ideas at all.

The BSI version was BS-5861 but it has been superseded by ISO 500.

One place you might find the spline info is through a hydraulic pump manufacturer. They sometimes offer pumps with the male or female version of this spline. And I wouldn't be surprised if they have some detail for their industrial customers.

It turns out it was BS2059 that refers to spline pattern that I had.

An old business contact came through for me. Thanks though guys.
