Some program help thanks

I want to take the highest amp reading during a 8 sec period, the current will fluctuat during this time so i need to write some logic to keep track of only the highest current value reached during the 8 secs, i will then move this value to a holding register to be used in a hmi application, then i will repeat this continously while machine is in auto.
