I need to boil a mixture of nitric acid and metal salts to drive off the acid and then melt the salts. I'd like to do this in a stainless steel drum, but I need a coating to protect the drum, at least until the acid is boiled away. The coating must be inexpensive, as the drum is discarded once it's full of salt, about 24 hours. [sig][/sig]

With my limited background I would suggest a phenolic and or epoxy system.
