Hello,
We have a SST bushing press fitted inside an aluminium block. Both were protected against corrosion prior to installation (i.e aluminium was anodized and the bushing was passivated).
But due to a design error, we need to ream the internal diameter of the bushing which is already fitted inside the aluminium block (we cannot take it out).
The reaming process will remove the passivation layer.
Is there any procedure or material that we can use in order to protect the SST bushing from corrosion in this case (that we cannot passivate)?
Thanks.

SS will form its oen passivation naturally provided it is not contaminated with ferrite. Otherwise, there are commercially available pickling pastes for stainless steel.
