Properties for DIN17100 RST42/2 2

We have 24 process tanks (ø12.8m x 31m high) for which the main construction material for given as DIN 17100 RST 42/2.
They were constructed circa 1980.

We need to do some design recalculations and must have some properties: ideally allowable stress, otherwise Tensile and yield strength.

However, I cannot find any details on this material, apart from one reference on a materials property comparison for pipe and tube. There is no problem finding references to RST44/2.

Could anyone help shed some light on this?

DIN 17100 has been replaced by other standards, such as EN 10025. St 44-2 would be S275JR.

Yes, I realise it has been replaced and know that S275JR is acceptable for St 44/2.

But I really need to find the correct allowable stress for my calculations, otherwise I'm stuck with a very low assumed allowable stress.

The real problem I have is that I'm not sure whether this RSt 42/2 grade existed (possibly an error on the drawings?) and if it did where can I find the the yield or tensile stress.

RSt 44-2 was indeed a grade listed in DIN 17100, so I don't think there is a drawing error, other than the use of a / instead of a - in the designation. The yield and tensile strength values will be the same as S275JR in DIN EN 10025 and vary depending on the thickness of the steel. You can purchase a copy of DIN 17100 from IHS:

 
RST42-2 was the designation in DIN 17100 Edition 1966. This steel was replaced in Edition 1980 by RST44-2. The specified mechanical properties were slightly changed.
 
Ulyssess, thanks for that valuable insight that it was a grade in the older version of the standard.
Would anyone have a copy of the 1966 DIN 17100 and be able to scan the page with the mechanical properties for RSt 42-2?
Otherwise I'll see if I can get an old copy of the standard.

I've manged to find a copy the 1966 standard.
Out of interest the min. yield was 255MPa.
