My cow antenna my be easiest to configure if it radiates with horizontal polarization. I am interested in the 433 Mhz band as well as 900 Mhz meaning that blocking vertical polarized interference is a Plus.

My Questions:
Compared with vertical,
1) How well does horizontal propagate over distance of 1 mile from a 4' TX to a 32' RX?
2) What is the comparative attenuation through foliage? (sparse 50/50% evergreen trees as in a free range area)
3) How well does it diffract around/over/under trees and buildings?

What is my best reference for this?

Thanks very much!
Jim
