I am a ProEuser (ProMold)beginning to learn Solidworks. It looks like basic SW has some basic mold functions but no Mold or Component libraries. Can anybody verify that?

what do you mean by 'libraries'?

Catalog of commonly used tooling components?

Yes, in all their various sizes with data like size, part no., vendor, etc, that are intechangeable and have related cut information. eg: ejector pins, date codes, slides, etc.

There is a different module for that in solidworks. (SWMOULDBASE).

There is also a product from R&B called Moldworks. This has a fairly extensive library as well as all your moldbase catalogs, cooling lines, ejectors, sprue's etc. You may also want to try the user library on 3dcontentcentral.com.
