For the wheels we manufacture, we have an outside diameter dimension and tolerance for example 330mm +/- 2mm. We also have a profile tolerance of 2 mm referencing on the mounting face(A) and mounting bore(B) to control wobble.
The way we interpret the profile tolerance is +/- 1 mm from the nominal diameter or surface.
Doesn't this effectively limit the diameter tolerance to +/- 1?
Is there a way to allow the diameter to vary by the +/- 2 while still maintaining the current profile tolerance of 2 or is there a way to reference the profile to the actual measured diameter of a particular wheel instead of nominal?
Simply put, we are OK with the diameter of the wheel being up to 2 mm over or under nominal but we don't want to increase the amount of potential wobble?
Thank you.
