Hi all,

I'm new to this forum and registered because I have some trouble with exporting to .dwg from NX drafting mode.
I did some research both on this forum and google, but not managed to figure it out yet.

Normally, in our company we use Solidworks. For one particular customer we have to use Siemens NX.
Therefor, things like macro's and drawing templates are not very well developed.

In the Siemens NX drafting application, I managed to import my company's drawing title block and framework using File-->Format-->Pattern-->Retrieve Pattern.
The pattern shows up in drafting mode, and also export to pdf causes no problems.

When trying to export the draft to .dwg, only the drawing views are visible in the .dwg. Imported framework and title block seem not to be exported.
I tried different variations on the .dwg export- and .dwg import settings, without success.

Can anybody help me with this topic?

I'm using Siemens NX 10.0.0.24

If any more information is needed to be able to solve this issue. Please let me know!

Nope. I use File-->Export-->Autocad DXF/DWG...

If a choose 2D exchange, i get the following message: "2D Exchange for DXF and DWG has moved to the AutoCAD DXF/DWG Export Wizard, Export As 2D option"

This "Pattern thing" is more or less a retired method to handle drawing borders, i have not tried it since ...hm, many years back...
The now recommended method is to either use the wizards etc to setup the border and header in your drawing templates,
OR, skip the border wizard / header wizard and import the border you have onto a drawing template.

When you have the templates setup, you can edit the pax-files ( which determine what templates you see on File- Open)
The default templates and the .pax files are ( default) in install\ugii\templates

If you place a file in this directory with the file name extension .pax , NX will read it when starting.
Copy the ugs_drawing_templates.pax and edit. ( rename the original something not ".pax" )
When done, you should edit the "ugs_sheet_templates.pax", its content is almost the same but it dictates what sheet templates you will see when " add sheet" in NX.

Regards,
Tomas
