Problems in creating rib

There is problem in creating a rib between a cylinder and the flat surface, when the rib profile is started from the cylinder. It leads to resolved section. How to rectify this?

if u want to make a rib anywhere just make a datum to go through the
flange axis and @ a angle to one of the datum planes. then use it as
your sketching plane.





if you want to pattern it like in the second pic. group that rib and
datum and pattern them together. also if using wf2. just use axis
pattern.
