I posted this in forum286, but no one has responded.

Has anybody here written up inspectable printing instructions for parts with artwork?

I have written up instructions for applying artwork to parts using SolidWorks. I am now wrapping my head around mass production. On my drawings, I do not care if they silkscreen, pad print or digitally print. I want to call up quality. On a given part, I think I am concerned about...
[ul]
[li]colour matching[/li]
[li]opacity[/li]
[li]feathering of edges[/li]
[li]toughness[/li]
[/ul]
Has anyone dealt with this?

Been years since I have done this. We used to make a drawing showing the print on the part, use artwork p/n, color spec, etc.
We would receive a part to inspect for color, size, location, etc, then let vendor know of any adjustments.

ctopher,

That is what I am used to doing. I am looking at this from a QA point of view. I don't care how they do it. I was some sort of accept/reject criteria.
