Pressurized Piping Blinding Device

I have a vague memory of having seen information about someone’s product/device that can be used to isolate pressurized piping. No, not a valve; it seems like it was an on-stream blinding device that may or may not have had integral valving.

Am I imagining things or has anyone else run across something matching that description? If so, please provide some specifics if possible.

You may be thinking about T.D. Williamson "Hot Stopple" device for shutting down a line to install a valve after a temporary bypass has been placed around the pipe location.

A stopple device isn’t the right application. I’m dealing with three crude oil heaters with common inlets and outlets with the occasional need/desire to take one off-line for de-coking (pigging). Isolating the furnace to be de-coked has historically has been done via single stop (gate) valve isolation with a blind. There’s legitimate concern over installing and pulling the blinds with only the single stop valve holding back the process.

As such my quest is to weigh such options as double block and bleed arrangements against other options like the type of in-line (and on-line) blinding device I'm thinking of, if it exists. Zapster’s Applied Alloys site offers a link for a “Blind that can be used on Pressurized Pipeline.”
