We are desinging a blower system for an aeration basin and I need to size the blower header. I am familiar with calculating head loss in water piping, but have not done it for air. Our air requirements are 1400 SCFM per basin. I will need to accout for losses in straight steel piping with minor losses for tees and bends.

Thanks in advance.

Get a copy of Crane's technical paper 410 (flow of fluids through valves, fittings and pipes). It's just what you need and an excellent reference to have.

It think it's about $40 now. If you buy materials from Crane, you should be able to get a copy from your rep for free.
