I have cross that is blanked one end so there it is essentially a tee. Flow comes into the tee from the branch and either 1) all flow goes to one side (now it's an elbow) or 2) flow diverges to each side of the tee run. I'm trying to figure out how to calculate pressure drop for these two situations.
For situation 1, I thought of 90 degree miter ell or using Crane's formula for Kbranch w/ Qbranch = Qcomb. These match fairly closely at least within my flow range. How would you model this situation?
For situation 2, I'm not sure Crane is appropriate (eqs. 2-37 and 2-38). The diagrams show the combined flow on the run, but I'm not sure if the equations also represent that or if they can be used with the combined flow coming from the branch. Anyone have idea how to calculate K values for this situation?
