The NEC considers equipment with nominal voltage less than 600V and over 600V.If we use a VFD with power converter, we have 480 VAC as the input nominal voltage, however, the system operates with DC bus voltage over 600 VDC. What should be classification of such system from NEC standpoint?

NEC doesn't address inside the box. 480VAC in and 480VAC out is less than 600V.

Thank you David, but I did not say that output voltage is 480 VAC.This converter has a regen front end, DC bus (over 600 VDC), which is connected to DC/DC converter with output voltage over 600 VDC (this is a battery simulator).
