Can anyone suggest a potting compound that can withstand temperatures up to 300C for most of its life.
I need to encapsulate a small irregular object into a blind end stainless steel tube, Dia 5.2mm(0.205") length 23.0mm(0.906"). A certain amount of bonding force would be required during assembly of this part in a downstream process.
The part would be under no significant load during its life (other than initial assembly) but is sensitive to pressure so swelling of the compound at temp. would need to be minimized.
This part could see temperatures up to 300C for over 3 weeks at a time.

I would suggest a sodium silicate adhesive. Commonly used in kilns as the bonding agent. Temp range up to 2000F.

I hope this has helped,

John
