Does anyone have a rule of thumb for potable water consumption per person in a plant?

Polyroly, I assume potable water used for eye-wash and emergency shower if no other users in plant. In this case, Refer to ANSI Z358.1 which indicated the required flow rate for shower/eyewash. you may want to reasonably assume some showers/eyewash operate at a time, thus you get the flow rate consumption.

I think plumbers use about 25-50 gal/day/person. This may be for homes and include cooking, toilets, and bathing so you may want to use the lower number for a plant situation.

You might also check local plumbing codes or do a Google search.

Thanks DavidG14 and nli2. I will read this ANSI code regarding eyewash and emergency showers. The area that I am asking about is in regards to consumption in an administration building where most consumption is for the bathrooms and drinking.

I use this in AB:
50 gal/day. capita During normal operation
100 gal/day. capita during construction (Camp)

Hope this help

Thanks shahyar. I work in Alberta as well so I will use 50 gal/day/person
