I have a bunch of anchors to spec for a wastewater treatment plant to secure FRP grating and sections to concrete. What is the best material to use? 316 Stainless or a duplex alloy threaded rod epoxied in place?

I typically spec out 2205 duplex grade. Most of my jobs are bridges or piers in the ocean, though so a different corrosive environment than what you are inquiring about. This grade is much harder to find than 316 but it is superior in almost all regards. The Engineers over in the Materials forum are usually pretty helpful about this stuff. They were trying to turn me on to using some Monel fasteners for a project that I had recently. First time I had heard of it.

Thanks, I'll repost it in the Materials Section.

Simpson came out with a 316 screw anchor. FWIW, a rep that I spoke to at a conference said it was specifically brought to market for WWTP appurtenances.

Recently started working for a firm that does a lot of work in this sector. Generally we spec 316L for anchors in the process areas. There may be some specialty situations where we spec a duplex alloy but I haven't come across it yet.
