To start I would like to thank everyone who replied to my question about POLAIRIZATION INDEX of new motors THANKS.
My question now is about poratable motor winding heaters.
When I worked on the Texas Gulf Coast some of the plants had homemade poratable motor winding heaters that could be
connected to the "T" leads of a motor at the starter after
the "T"leads had been removed from load side of the starter. When power was applied to this devise a current would flow through the windings and generate heat in the motor windings. This devise was powered by 480V and to the best of my knowlege was used only on 480V motors.I do know that they had a large capacitor bank in them. Would anyone know where I might obtain a schematic of one of these winding heaters THANKS HYPRESS
