Hello:

I am not too sure whether my question comes under this forum.
I want to analyze hexane, heptane and toluene using porapak q column in my GC fitted with TCD. Does anyone have idea about their typical elution/retention time with porapak q column?

Cheers,

Check for relative column elution data. You can find that some packings separate C4 and iC4 and some don't based upon the elution data. Searching for toluene and heptane brought up a PONA application for reformulated gasoline with great separation but it was not Porapak Q. Poke around Restek a while and you may find the Porapak data.
