Dear all,
We are facing serious problems of fouling in our chiller unit (R404a). The refrigerant is used to cool down the process water and it passes through the tubes.
We tried dismantle the exchanger bundle but this is blocked by the fouling, the Axima technician stopped the intervention because he is afraid to damage the baffles mechanically.
Therefore, we need to do a chemical cleaning in the shellside. The problem is what kind of cleaning agent we must use with the materials of the heat exchanger (steel, stainless steel and POM on the shellside). By the moment GE Water/Nalco are not sure if we can use a sweet acid.
I will be grateful for any help you can provide.
Best regards,
John
