Is there a standard for Poly-V pulleys and Belts? I am needing details for a "K" section pulley. I have found some information from google and website called SIT. But I can not find a standard like an SAE and or ANSI standard. Thanks
I can't believe SAE lacks a standard. I think "Poly-V" may be a trademark, in which case SAE would use some generic teminology, like 'multiple-ribbed' or 'PV belts'.
I think I found the solution. ARPM standard IP-26. I do appreciate your feedback. I think you are correct about how each company has their own "trade name" For Example Gates calls them Micro V belts. Thanks again.
I got tripped up on this recently.
I was searching belts for a J section pulley where the metric belt was a J610.
I ordered a J610x20 where 20 is the number of ribs on the belt. and got back a belt that was 2.5 times too long. it turns out that there is a standard in the USA that uses .2 of an inch for the units, there is a conversion chart that crosses over between this .2" and the MM dimensions. so my J610 metric belt was a 240 J in the USA.
