Hello,

It is my understanding plywood is usually nailed to wooden roof beams at some spacing. When checking the roof beams for bending using NDS provisions, is it OK to assume that the plywood braces the beams at the nail spacing? I am referring to lu in NDS 12, table 3.3.3.

Yup, that's how it's normally done.

I like to debate structural engineering theory -- a lot. If I challenge you on something, know that I'm doing so because I respect your opinion enough to either change it or adopt it.
