Hi Forum,

I desperatly need your help.

I bought an air con unit to retrofit to my VW eurovan but there was no engine bay harness supplied but I have got the schematic.

Problem is is that I cant identify component 24, I dont know what its for and where the green and yellow terminate or join ?

How can i get around this issue ?

Any help would be greatfully received.

Thank you.

Ron.

Looks like a diode pack in series with the electric fan. It might allow the fan to be powered from two sources, and preventing the current from 'feeding back' to the other source.
1) when the airconditioner is 'on', the fan runs.

2) when engine temp rises above a certain point, power is supplied from a temp sensor ( probably thru the ecu ), and the fan runs.

And about the connector, I'd bet that it terminates at a relay box somewhere.

Its difficult for me to see the internal connections of #24, but it appears to be a bridge rectifier. I am 99.9% sure of this. There are available from Radio shack too.

They are used commonly to convert AC to DC current. But also in DC circuits for isolation, to prevent current backfeeding.
