PLC Software 3

I have an obsolete PLC (Barber-Colman) need to replace it with a new PLC.

My client wants to use the same software.

I cannot communicate with the PLC nor download the software as the comm's port is not functioning.

I do not have any program listing nor documentation to describe the software.

I am told there is a 2 or 3 line display on the PLC that allows the operator to view the PLC code

I am not familiar with this PLC

Tips on how to proceed will be appreciated.

So you cant upload the program?
No documentation or offline program to view.
No software to view the code from bc?
I never knew that barber colemen made plcs. go figure

So your only option is turn the plc on and look at a 3 line display to view code?

I would sit in front of the PLC and type line for line the code into your favorite PLC editor and comment what its doing.

or

Otherwise just understand the process and write it yourself.

Hopefully you have drawings on the wiring.

Invensys now owns Barber-coleman through it's Eurotherm Div.

If it were me, I'd try their site;

Barber Colman's 'PLCs' would now be termed hybrid controllers and were quite application specific to the plastics market: extrusion, blow or injection molding.

Some former B-C employees now service that market as Instrucon.
