On the SCADA or DAQ side:

Practical SCADA for Industry, by David Bailey, published by Newnes, 2003

or

Practial Data Acquisition for Instrumentation and Control Systems, by John Park, published by Newnes, 2003

To all appearances, the DNP comm protocol is used only by the power people, hence

Practical Modern SCADA Protocols, DNP3, 60870.5 and Related Systems by Gordon Clarke & Deon Reynders, 2004, published by Elsevier Science & Technology
