What do you all think?
I need to have a spring made of A228 music wire plated. We've used zinc-chromate before in the refrigeration industry with good success. I'm thinking I should specify a baking operation to reduce the chance of hydrogen embrittlement, what do you guys think?

Thanks

If the spring is electroplated, it should be baked. Can you select another coating? Multilayer zinc organic coatings have better corrosion resistance, less hydrogen embrittlement risk, and lower cost.

Cory, I could select another. The only requirement at this time is it be compatible with ammonia and other refrigerants, and it is plated for corrosion resistance. Easier, simpler, and cheaper always works for me. Is there a specific type or name I can research?

Thanks
